I am driven by happiness, by helping people to flourish and thrive. Profound happiness can be found if we realise our inner freedom, if we gain certainty that we are not our thoughts or feelings. Through my own work, I hope to make a small contribution by making it just this little bit easier to travel this path to freedom – at least for some.
Science can open one door into the world of meditation – the best way I know for gaining this freedom.
- With my research I contribute to the scientific understanding how meditation can make a positive difference.
- Through my teaching, I encourage students to explore secular mindfulness meditation. My Positive Psychology Masters students go a step further and engage deeply with mindfulness-based strengths practice.
- Through my writing – through books, articles, blog posts, and the meditation research knowledge base – I try to bring the understanding closer to a wider public.
